Bush says about the Constitution, "It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!"
“I don’t give a goddamn,” Bush retorted. “I’m the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way.”
“Mr. President,” one aide in the meeting said. “There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution.”
“Stop throwing the Constitution in my face,” Bush screamed back. Bush screamed back. “It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!”
President George W Bush insists he has not compromised civil liberties, after it was alleged he authorised people in the US to be bugged without a warrant.
Mr Bush refused to confirm or deny the claims, but said he always upheld the law and protected civil liberties.
After allegations that President Bush authorised a US intelligence agency to eavesdrop on American citizens without court approval, the BBC News website considers some key questions.
What are the allegations?
NSA = no such agency
Though invisible on the map, 38,000 people work at the agency every day, more than the CIA and FBI put together - every one of them sworn to a lifetime of secrecy.
One of the most bizarre ironies of all this is that five of the hijackers lived in a motel right outside the gates of the NSA.
Nineteen men armed only with box-cutters and their fanaticism successfully hatched a plot totally unnoticed by America's $40bn a year intelligence-gathering machine.
Early on the morning of 11 September, when Hani Hanjour and his four accomplices left the Valencia Motel on US route 1 on their way to Washington's Dulles airport, they joined the stream of NSA employees heading to work.
Three hours later, they had turned flight 77 around and slammed it into the Pentagon.
The Bush administration had emphasized the threat of weapons of mass destruction as a reason to go to war in Iraq but such weapons were never found.
A CAPITOL B = Bush or BULLSHIT ?
Bush says he wrestled with decision to invade Iraq
While President Bush calls it time and time again, "My Country"....
The Vice President Dick Cheney, Just referes to the whole this as a business venture..
"To me, energetic debate on issues facing our country is more than just a sign of a healthy political system -- it's also something I enjoy. It's one of the reasons I've stayed in this business."
I DEMAND IMPEACHMENT OF GEORGE BUSH AS A CRIMINAL
He is a terrible and blatant liar. Although he thinks it is "unpatriotic" to demand his legitimacy and accountablity. "Irresponsible" to challenge his policies...
He refuses to comment on illegal violations of other countries airspace, he immediately asks to redefine torture when asked about that. The government refuses access to guantanamo bay prisoners.
At least for once the lying sack of DooDoo has told the truth, admitted he is indeed a criminal and done so outright...
"he authorised people in the US to be bugged without a warrant."
“If there was ever a time in history to impeach a President of the United States, it would be now. In my opinion, it is two years too late … Shouldn't war be an absolute last resort? We went to war because we were misled. And we should be angry because of the 2,000 American soldiers and the 200 armed coalition forces that have died. We should be livid because of the 15,000 American soldiers that have been horribly maimed and wounded. We should be disgusted because of the 30,000 innocent Iraqi civilians that have been killed and the 20,000 that are wounded after administration officials claimed that the US was going to liberate the Iraqi people. When does it stop? It stops with the indictment and impeachment of this corrupt, power-hungry, greedy group of incompetent leaders. How many more have to die before this happens?”
